La semana pasada estuve en la capital de la cerveza: Munich. La capital bávara es algo más que eso, también es el paraíso de las salchichas y todo tipo de comidas apeteciblemente grasientas...Bromas aparte, es una ciudad ordenada, fácil y con mucha historia. No es muy grande así que una semana es demasiado tiempo, por eso el viaje estuvo repleto de excursiones como a Salzburgo, castillo de Neuschwanstein o el campo de concentración de Dachau.
Comenzamos con el centro de la cuidad uno de los monumentos más representativos, el ayuntamiento nuevo situado en Marienplatz. Cuenta con un precioso carillón con figuritas en el centro de la torre principal que es muy muy curioso.
Last week I visited the capital city of beer: Munich. The Bavarian capital is more than this, it's also the sausage and any kind of delicious, greasy food paradise. Leaving jokes aside, its an organized, easy and historical city with many places to visit. Munich isn't a very big city so a week is too much time to dedicate on this single place. Several trips to Salzburg, the concentration camp in Dachau and the Neuchwanstein's castle covered the rest of the days.
We start with the city centre with one of the most representative monuments: the new town hall in Marienplatz. It is famous for its wonderful carillon with figures bringing back old memmories.
Para no aburrir con monumentos y parecer una guia de viajes, solo me quedaré con las cosas más anecdóticas o sorprendentes. De repente me encuentro en pleno Munich un altar a Michael Jackson!! Incluso acaban de poner una foto de él con la también recientemente fallecida Whitney Houston...
I don't want to make things boring or act like a tourist guide so I'll show the most surprising or curious things. An example is a monument to Michael Jackson! They had even recently put a photo with him and Whitney Houston (both tragically dead).
Al entrar a una galería comercial me encuentro con un precioso jardín colgante. No penséis que era de plástico, no señor. Era una auténtica maravilla.
On the inside of a commercial gallery I found one of my favourite thins, a hanging garden. But a real one, don't you think it was plastic or anything else... Beautiful.
Hice todo lo que se puede hacer en Munich cuando no es la Oktoberfest: comer salchichas y bretzen, beber cerveza, comprar conejitos de pascua e incluso ver a los surfistas del jardín inglés! Y como no, una visita al museo de la casa de automóviles más famosa de la ciudad, BMW.
I finally did every typical thing you can do in Munich: eat sausages and bretzen, drink beer, buy easter bunnies or even watch the surfers at the English garden! And as it couldn't have been another way , a visit to the car's most famous museum in Munich: BMW.
La siguiente visita fue a Salzburgo, al ciudad de Mozart y Sonrisas y Lágrimas. Es pequeña y en un día puedes verlo todo, desde los jardines de Mirabell, pasando por las dos residencias de Mozart, la catedral, la calle de las tiendas y el castillo.
The next trip was to Salzburg, Mozart's city (and home of The sound of Music). A small place you can manage to visit in one day from de Mirabell gardens to Mozart's houses, the cathedral, the shopping streets and the castle.
Para terminar , la excursión al castillo de Neuschwanstein, del rey Luis II de Baviera. Si os digo esto puede que os quedéis igual, pero si os digo que es en el que se inspiró Disney para crear el castillo de la Bella durmiente cambia la cosa. El paraje era precioso, todo nevado, un sol la mar de agradable. Problema: la fachada principal estaba cubierta por andamios...me tuve que conformar con comprar una postal.
To finish, the trip to Neuschwanstein's castle built by king Ludwig II. If I say this you may have no idea of what I'm talking about. But if I say it's the castle in which Disney based himself to create the Sleeping Beauty's castle you might see it differently. The landscape was perfect, snow was all around, a sunny day...the problem: the front part and most famous was covered in scaffolding. Sooooo, I had to conform with a nice post card of the view.
Os recomiendo que hagáis alguna vez el viaje a Baviera, es una región preciosa con muchísimas cosas que ver y que probar. Mañana, la segunda parte, un beso croissantero.
I strongly recommend you to make the journey to Bayern, a nice region with many things to see and taste. Tomorrow, the second part, kisses!
